WHO AM I
I'm Jamie and I founded Move with Jamie with the goal of getting people to move with Pilates classes and more!
I've always been into sports, exercise and healthy living and experience firsthand how great the positive effects are on my physical, mental and emotional health. Moving makes me feel more calm, I feel more energetic, more productive and creative, and I feel more comfortable in my own body. I would like to share my passion and help others be able to experience the same, in the form of Pilates!
I have a background in Applied Psychology, focusing primarily in my senior year on encouraging movement among individuals and within organizations in order to create more vital employees with less absenteeism. I did this primarily through walking meetings. I found out how much we sit in the Netherlands, which is way too much. And we move too little. This project has given me the drive to get up and make a change.
The same year I earned my certification as a Pilates instructor and now I teach classes at multiple locations. I get a lot of energy from helping others. Pilates is a great sport suitable for anyone who wants to move more and get the positive effects from it.
In addition, I have been active in the pole dancing community for 5 years, something that gives me a lot of confidence, strength and energy. I have experienced that pilates is a perfect combination with a sport like pole dancing, because it maintains all muscle groups.
